Information On Polar Bears

polar bear scott schliebe usfwssmall Information On Polar BearsThey are adorable, cuddly as well as completely vulnerable. Polar bears grab the admiration as well as recognition of folks the globe over for their fluffy bright coats and huggable size. They achieve honor from animal fans for their hunting ability and survival strategies in one of the harshest environments on Planet. But in spite of their frustrating recognition these giants are in risk of being wiped off Earth completely.

Ice melting must be a primary focus of conservation energies for the polar bear as this is impacting the polar bear the most. Polar bears rely on substantial stops of moving ice to execute their routine actions connected to thriving. Polar breeds prey on fat-laden seals from these stops of ice, they mate, and some even deliver their cubs on them. The trouble with the ice melting is that many polar bears have actually gone hungry since there is actually not adequate ice for them to hunt their prey. This affects their capability to reproduce as well as carry their cubs to term that directly impacts human population amounts. Even, when ice is likewise far from land, polar bears will certainly wipe out trying to swim far distances to find them. All of these issues have made the polar bear more land bound.

Why They’re At Hazard
The best hazard to the survival of the polar bear species is the noted warming of the Arctic sea which is leading to the melting of the ice these bears call house. Although the bears utilize the ice for breeding and relaxing as well, it’s principal element is to supply a cover for the bears as they hunt seals. Without sufficient ice, the bears can easily not extend a long way enough from land to hunt adequate food to survive. The bears are coming to be malnourished and numerous are expiring of malnourishment. This dynamic is actually effecting female bears with cubs in a exceptional quantity causing lesser survival rates of the newer generations. Extra hazards to polar bears provide increased run ins with individuals due to the forced time spent on land, and spills, development as well as freight techniques relating to oil in the Arctic.

That Is actually Helping, as well as Just how
Major contributors to the fight to save the Arctic Polar Bear provide the Coca-Cola Business as well as the World Wildlife Fund. Collectively these businesses are actually raising money to groundwork exactly what is inducing international climate change as well as performing with governmental agencies to manipulate greenhouse gasoline discharges. More major ventures consist of energies to eliminate unfavorable human connections including poaching and extraordinary tourism as well as protecting pivotal environment areas such as birthing dens.

Will the extinction of polar bears affect the world? Will it affect us humans in anyway?

  2. Peter J says:

If they went extinct, children in Churchill, Ontario wouldn’t have to look over their shoulders all the time, and we’d have a lack of white bear rugs. But they aren’t going to be extinct.

  3. Jomel O says:

Well, for ordinary people with ordinary jobs, it does not have any effect. but for those whose jobs are extreme photographers or extreme film makers…it would affect their job.. but their are other more awesome things to photograph or film… but it would really be a big loss if polar bears go extinct. I haven’t seen one in personal yet :(

  4. Joe Joyce says:

“Do not ask for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee.” Google the meaning of that sometime, just for starters. Here’s a simple question: what generally happens when you remove the top predators from a food chain? Here’s a hint: anybody notice the large numbers of deer and geese in the northeast US?

  5. Ian says:

Did they change the definition of extinct to mean the population is increasing?

  6. Tom K says:

That’s like asking if the death of a canary in a coal mine will affect the mine or its other occupants. The simple answer is “no”. But it is a predictor, and a serious forewarning, of conditions in the mine and danger to its human occupants. Same with the Polar Bears.

  7. Would it be farfetched to think that with the melting of the icecaps? darker furred bears will begin to flourish in regions previously dominated by polar bears because of the change in color of the terrain? If the icecaps melted completely would the polar bears border on extinction? Your thoughts R & S?

  8. Pisces says:

it’s possible that the polar bears will go extinct.

  9. Tuberoot says:

I think that with the melting of the polar ice caps, Russia will get a better angle to attack the US. Bears? Yeah, they call them that. Darker bears? Yeah, I see them as pretty dark.

  10. TheBodhiTree says:

yes polar bears will be screwed, not because of camoflauging (bears have almost no natural predators), but because of change in environment and food sources as far as the icecaps melting, no bears will take over that region because there will be water, no land

  11. Desiree says:

Polar bears need the ice to get their food source – seal cubs. The polar regions are actually quite rich in food, the trick is to get there in the summer and not be there in the winter. Once the polar bears go extinct, there might be an explosion in the seal population but with all the toxins in the water these days, that will probably limit the numbers of seals.

  12. Daniel says:

Polar bears already ARE bordering on extinction. I just read the article this week.

  13. good question. i don’t know. but why can’t we just relocate these endangered animals? we have polar bears living in our memphis zoo so why do we spend thousands of dollars documenting these creatures demise instead of efforts to relocate them to land that isn’t melting?

  14. Liz A says:

Actually, I have never considered Huskies. I think polar bears are more a concern because they live off the land that is melting and drowning them. I always thought that Huskies were raised by humans and were not wild. You cannot say that global warming fanatics discriminate animals, all you people who don’t care about global warming one bit are not doing near as much as the global warming “Discriminators” (yah right). They are endangered and maybe if you care so much about this “husky” crisis, you should march up to David Suzuki or Al Gore and yell in their faces yourself.

  15. Dawei says:

Why do you think one has to care about polar bears just to be concerned about global warming? Do you really think that is the worst effect of a sudden and extreme temperature change? Have you really never thought about the potential economic effects of a multi-meter sea level rise and climate change? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stern_Review What about the social consequences? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Effects_of_global_warming#Other_consequences Personally I don’t care if polar bears go. Nor do most other people who are concerned. Just because something is an “environmental” issue doesn’t mean it can’t have some very bad effects on human well being and economic growth.

  16. rocketgirl says:

I would think it is because polar bears could not live elsewhere. Huskies can be tamed and kept as housepets. This is not the case for polar bears. Polar bears are physically adapted to their habitat. If polar bears lived elsewhere, their dietary habits would have to change and the ecosystem would become very different. You say 500 in the Arctic. How many worldwide?

  17. Andrew B says:

Good point. the polar bear is really more of a symbol that all of the brainwashed Al gore Sheep herd to. Thirty years ago, the symbol was the chimpanzee freezing when all the people thought the earth was gonna get too cold. People need to relax and live their lives. Not to be mr. depression, but the Earth is huge. Peole are to small, too minute to make a difference that the earth doesn’t balance out. You can’t make a difference in the world. And now your probably saying, “Andrew, you idiot, all the people united can!” But thats where your wrong. The Earth is too big. Secondly, the bible says that the earth is here for our taking. its good to take care of it by going green, but pushing it by freaking out about global warming is unnecessary.

  18. notsobusypat says:

not many animals live in the same area as polar bears, that’s why they sit on the ice by a hole and “fish” out of it. when the fish popluation decreases, so does their food supply. And polar bears aren’t the fastest creatures, making it hard for them to catch jackrabbits and the other small, but faster, land animals.

  19. Don’t have any statistics for ya’, but keep in mind that the most dangerous predator on the face of this earth be MAN!! Definitely not tryin’ ta’ be a smart A _ _, but unfortunately homo sapien be the biggest threat for the demise of nature itself! Do not like that word (demise), but if we allow it to continue at the rate it’s goin, that will be the end result.

  20. Marcus says:

Well you see we are taking their fish that they need to survive and its not only the fishing its also the melting of the ice caps these beautiful creatures of earth are drowning because of idiot selfish humans.

  21. Choqs says:

A disruption in the food chain will always see repercussion down the chain. We as humans have created this.

  22. Sorry, I wasn’t present in the Ark, so I can’t answer this question.

  23. kd says:

all animals were vegan until after the flood

  24. Monica P says:

    they only took farm animals

  25. TB2 says:

Quite simple actually,,,,you see, Noah and his kinfolk just scooped up the dead bodies floating in the water and feed them to the lions and bears. Funny thing about carnivores, humans are on of the menu also.

  26. skiingted says:

I personally think this global warming thing is a bunch of bunk. I am not saying it is not happening but I do not believe we humans are causing it. There is no more water on this earth then there was a million years ago. At one time almost the entire planet was covered by water. Did the human race cause global warming then? I don’t think so. Our world is on an elliptic path through out the universe and I think it is something that just naturally happens every few thousand years or so. chicken Little is still alive today and still spreading ridiculous rumors. BTW. Polar bears will adapt to whatever weather it encounters and survive. They are the biggest bear on the planet ya know.
